Dream Kitchen
Saw this kitchen via House of Turquoise and fell in love with the light airiness this kitchen exudes. If you've seen my home or my old apartment you know I have a deep love for robins egg blue and white.
Seeing as we're about a year or so away from having our own home I will only dream of what could be. Designed by Jo Rabaut and featured in 2010 Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Kitchen of the Year Contest it's no wonder that it was the winner.

What a slushy mess lies outside these windows of our home, I'm glad to be inside that's for sure.
With sleet and snow falling quickly (and sticking) my boss let the entire PT department leave for the day.
I can't tell you how excited I was to drive home for a hard day of blankets and netflix.

Monday Monday Monday
I was happy to have the 60 degree weather and think of the fun that spring brings in but I shouldn't have been so fooled, it is still January and the snow has yet to really fall. Infact a "snow storm" is in the forecast for Thursday which will most likely be a few flurries with grocery stores sold out of milk and bread.
In other news, tomorrow will be our 6 month anniversary. Can you believe how fast these months have gone by? We were talking about it today on the way home from the grocery store and we're glad that the stress of the wedding weighing on us has now left. I kid you not, there was probably more worry about rain, tents, cake, and hay bales than glee over the life we were about to start together. As much as I would love to go back to our honeymoon and walking around the streets of San Francisco I wouldn't take away what we have now. We have our little routines, we cook together and read our books in bed at night- watch 'Castle' on Mondays and and and....I love what we have. He's my best friend and love! So here's to the next 6 months and 60 years :)
With all this talk of chilly days to come I dream of what will keep me warm...in style.
I just can't stand it when I see girls in baggy sweat pants and ugg boots. Take five minutes to throw on a beautiful scarf, button up a boyfriend blazer and pull boots on. I meannnn c'mon. But that's just me, Adam says I'll get ready to go to the post office and it's true. Always look your best, soap is cheap and water's free.
{I'm off the soap box now}
Keep cozy tonight, I hope to update tomorrow with pictures I've actually taken. {Oh yes, btw I found my camera!!} I'm trying to organize our guestroom closet. Believe me it's bad.
Okay g'night!

Happy Sunday from Franklin, TN
Friday after work we drove to see our families to celebrate my beautiful mother's birthday!
We went to Olive Garden for super yummy Italian food and went back to my parents house for Parks & Recreation and Community. I hold so dear the time I spend with my parents, brother and hubby- we're in our utmost comfort zone sitting in the living room watching tv and movies.
Yesterday my mom, Adam and I ventured to Green Hills for some much needed shopping. Green Hills has some of the best shops and boutiques Nashville as a whole can offer. Restoration hardware had the loveliest pillow case on sale for $10 which I purchased of course and a decorative dinner plate from Anthropologie. {I know the perfect place to hang my new find!} I am a shopper through and through, it runs in my blood.
Now that the rain has stopped we're headed into town to purchase a new phone for Barbara {Adam's mom} and a few candles.
Have a lovely rest of the weekend and pray for our safety as we drive back to Memphis.

Before I settle into bed to finish my book (I've already bought the sequel!) I wanted to make a quick post.
Last week I was told from a friend at work about a little Italian restaurant close to our house, Old Venice, that has Wednesday 1/2 price wine night. Let's just say when they gave us the warm bread and olive oil with spices followed by a glass of White Zinfandel I was in heaven.
There's something so special about a random night of the week suddenly made into a date with my love...and to boot, wine!
On another note, with the change of every season I get the inkling to do something different with myself. Literally,
"do". After seeing lots of styles I've grown quite fond of these:
You know, something with volume...

January rings in spring?
The weather here has been ever changing. One week in November we topped 75, two weeks ago it was a blistering 8 degrees causing schools to close because of frigid temperatures. Today we were met with 55-60 degrees. I told Adam that if our winter is over and this is the beginning of a loooong spring season then I'll take it! Found the video via Ruby Press and am in utter aw of...That Hair. I desire nothing more at this moment than to learn how I can achieve such volume.
Have a lovely early spring evening!

A quick little update with just a few pictures from Saturday evening.
We had a wonderful time and were greeted as we walked through the doors with a glass of champagne, what a great way to start. Yes Please! The entire law school was crowded with people of every age dressed to the nine's. There were orchids EVERYWHERE followed by candles, harpists and violinists. They waited on us hand and foot asking if we'd like more of this or a taste of their specialty food. I was able to catch up with a few friends and am very happy for my lovely friend, Allison. Girl you know what I'm talking about ;)
Overall the night was a hit and everyone seemed to have a blast.
Unfortunately I still cannot find my camera so I can only provide you with a few random shots from our friend Mogy.
{Kevin, Eric & Adam}
At the end of the night both of our feet were killing us. I broke in 6 inch high heeled pumps which I'm now realizing may have been a mistake. None the less we dined on some of the best restaurant food Memphis has to offer, not to mention all of the wine, champagne, and liquor you could consume. I ran, well actually a lady ran into me, that night who may have gone too far with her drinking. It was a moment that I won't forget helping me to keep in mind how I never want to look; drunk and classless.
Was that mean? I'm sorry.
Adam told me that this was the first of many gala's we'll be attending....to be honest, I can't wait!
We ended the night pretty early by reading our books and munching on mcdonald's fries.
{So much for resolutions!}

Glamour Poste
Happy Weekend!
First of all I must state that no matter what I do to savor every bit of my days off, they inevitably slip away from me. I'm trying my best to relish this day and remember to chill out. So many of my days are filled with worrying about getting this or that done, cleaning there and not forgetting to do...____ {You fill in the blank}.
So here I am relishing
As of now my nails are painted, the shoes have been purchased as have the little necklace to top it off.
Sadly I cannot find my camera, after searching high and low it's no where to be seen making me hope that I left it at one of our parent's houses. Tonight I'll be taking pictures via my phone and hope to post them tomorrow if not in a couple of days.
In honor of this special night {Note: I never went to prom and the only other day I got to dress up was my wedding} I'm making this entry my glamour poste.

I'm sitting on the couch with curlers in my hair and half a face of make up, getting ready for a birthday dinner out with friends.
Wednesday's bring great joy as I've officially made it midway through the week and only 2 more days until the weekend. Until sleeping in bliss and the gala. As promised, a little peek at the dress I'll be wearing.
Now all I have to buy are shoes, and I'm thinking maybe something with color. Something fun, you know...like these:
Having run around all week at work I don't know how well my feet will do in 5 in. platform pumps. But it'll be wonderful won't it? We received our tickets in the mail today which I'll have to take a picture of to post, they're beautiful!
Okay so that was a quickie post, but I must finish my hair. Have a lovely evening

Worn Out.
What a day we've had, I'm definitely worn out and ready to rest.
This morning we went to church and heard a wonderful sermon on marriage which encouraged us especially at this time in our lives as newlyweds. After the service we went outside to our car only to realize that our tire was flat. After figuring out the problem Adam rolled up his sleeves in the cold 30 degree weather and started to lift up the car. Soon after a man with his 3 children came over to help us out. So many people stopped to ask if we needed their help which furthered our reasoning to stay at this church. Even though this church is...well...massive, we're starting to get connected and feel like people actually care. Once the spare was screwed in place and we drove off we quickly realized that the spare was flat as well. Immediately we both just sort of slumped into our seats thinking, "Really? Can we not just catch a break?". But we were blessed in that our church isn't very far from Costco so we trekked the major highway at 20 miles per hour in hopes that the auto area was open. Praise Jesus they were open! Since we didn't purchase our tires there they weren't legally able to do any work. Having heard our situation the guy did us a huge favor by airing up and patching the hole regardless. {For free!}
No matter the challenge(s) we've been dealt lately I feel it's only made us closer as a couple and helped us to fully rely on Christ. Over and over again these verses, specifically v.28, came to mind today.
Romans 26-28Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.We've now settled in the for night {I swear we sound like a retired couple in Florida} and are washing about 17 loads of laundry. Don't judge me, so maybe I've been a little behind on my chores. This new week starts tomorrow and I'm wishing, hoping, praying for a little ease on the mishaps. A more uplifting post tomorrow I promise. Have a fabulous Sunday evening and a bright start to your Monday morning.

Happy Weekend
Happy Weekend, One and all!
Lots of things have gone on this past week leaving me every night wishing I had made a post to update. But alas I was lazy and one night fell into bed around 8:30.
Now that it is January the cold has hit hard on us southerners as well as across the states. Thursday we had our first snow here in Memphis and also as married couple. I had hoped with all of my heart that it would mean work was cancelled and we could stay inside all day reading and watching movies, though it didn't and off we went at 7:30 am in the blistering cold. No really, blistering...it was around10 degrees. A long long story short, after Adam dropped me at work on his way home ran over ice and drove into an embankment. By the grace of God's hand he, nor the car, was hurt badly and had the ability to back out {with steering shot} and make it to an auto shop.
The two front axels were broken and a slight oil leak we had previously turned into gushing with a messed up tire rim to boot. The men at the auto place were wonderful having our car pretty much fixed within a couple of hours. In order to get a new tire rim at an affordable price we had to drive to Arkansas to pick one up and have them replace it. Don't worry, Arkansas is relatively 15 minutes away although with our tire being as it was it took more like an hour and a half rather than 30 minutes for a round trip. In the end we are beyond blessed to have a perfectly working vehicle.
In other news, the Davis's will be attending a gala next Saturday evening. The new law school building opened up on Wednesday which we toured that will be holding the black tie event. I'll have a separate update later but I must insert that I've already found my dress! Now all we have left are my shoes, jewelery and Adam's tux. These are big girl things it feels like. Only big girls go to galas....I'm not a big girl, am I?
Alright I'm off to start the day, a shower in most definitely in order.
Have a lovely weekend and keep warm!
xoxo

A New Year, A New Start
After a little hiatus, purposefully of course, Im back with blogging fever!
The holidays have commensed and were absolutely wonderful. My parents visited Adam and I this past weekend to celebrate New Years. We talked about how much of a difference 10 years can make, i.e. 10 years ago I brought in the year 2000 sitting in my blow up plastic purple chair in North Carolina and this year I'm celebrating with my husband in our first home together in Memphis. Crazy, huh? It flew by... kind of.
I started off their visit by making them a new recipe I got from my cousin Stephanie for Shrimp Etoufee. I kid you not on how easy this dish was including how fast it can be whipped up. So we chowed down then headed to a local coffee shop called Republic and a quick run to Gibson's. Regretfully I didn't stay up until midnight as I'm sure most of the world did, I fell asleep at 10:00 and woke up at 11 to watch the NYC ball drop. I'm a sad example for "cool" 21 year olds... shame shame I know.
We started off the New Year not with going to the gym but by going to Perkin's {kind of like Denny's}. Pancakes, omlets, muffins, hashbrowns, and the like crowded our table. Needless to say we saved those healthy resolutions for today. A quick update on my resolutions: Not So Good. The time with my parents was WONDERFUL! We shopped {I got a blackberry, thank you Mamma & Daddy} and did some more shopping followed by Memphis Pizza Company. I wish they could've stayed until Sunday but alas they have commitments we had a blast! Photos of the weekend Here
Now that all of the festivities have come to a close hubby and I are organizing crazies. We've decided that it's time to make life a little bit easier starting with cleaning out closets. Adam has made a goodwill pile by the door and alphabetized our dvds. An accomplishment? I believe so!
On another note, fresh flowers are here to stay! Last week we bought 15 tulips for only $10 and spread them throughout the house. I love tulips and I love how flowers make our house feel, they brighten everything up.
Alright enough of my jibber jabbering, a few lovelies to look at. A peachy pink has been my color du jour and the photos below state just that...
I hope you have a wonderful evening whatever your plans may be.
