 Outfit to Room

I can't express how in awe I am of Cameron Diaz's tan and the length of her legs.
She is absolutely stunning and in seeing the above photo of her I knew I wanted to find a room that could echo the same refined and chic look.

For such a hot summer day, a fun outfit is always a plus.
Lately I've been playing on polyvore, a fun interactive site where you can pull from thousands of clothing, accessories, photos, you name it...and make a collection.
Here's a little sailor chic date outfit:

Being in love is spectacular.
Last night we celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary a milestone that came so quickly!
The first year of our marriage has been wonderful. We have definitely had our fair share of hardships when it comes to our car, school and work but it all adds up to a stronger relationship.
The sum of us is far greater than the parts.
We often say, "Go team Davis!" whenever something has been conquered as a couple. We just know we're partners, we're in this together.
We had grand plans for the evening but as life is life we made new ones. Better ones.
Having remembered we had a coupon for dunner, we ate at Ghengis Grill {buy one bowl, get the second free} followed by Marble Slab. {Also a coupon for free ice cream!}
Who said you always had to pay full price?
Once our stomachs were upset from all the ice cream we ventured to Green Hills to see a, you guessed it, free movie! As mentioned in a previous post, we saw Toy Story 3 and because of a glitch received 2 free tickets to another movie. Lo and behold we knew it would be the perfect ending to our date night.
We saw SALT with Angelina Jolie. I highly reccommend it if you're in the mood to have an intense break from your day. You are thrown into this CIA world of hers with action packed sequences leaving you with a desire for a sequel. We spent the whole drive home talking about every detial...enthralled to say the least.

I hope you had a wonderful evening for yourself.
Tonight will be more low key with special events including laundry and magazines.

It's our 1 year Anniversary!

To my love Adam, you are my greatest adventure in life.
You are the most wonderful blessing God has ever given me, the best provider, my cheerleader, encourager,  and best friend.
I've never felt so comfortable with someone or so loved.
I can't wait for the next fifty plus years we will spend together, I love you!!
Happy Anniversary!

Fabulous Friday

We're here again, ready for another sweltering summer weekend.

The forcast for this afternoon is in the 100's....a heat I'm none to happy with.
This week has gone by so slowly, I'm praying for an exciting Saturday and Sunday.
Oooh a date night would be so good, sushi and a movie. I would love nothing more than a date with my husband who has been busy working all week.
For the next few days Adam and I will be dogsitting for a family whose 4 dogs make me want to have some of my own.
Let's see, there's Dusty, Nemo, Leo and Peanut. Oh peanut, a miniature daschund that I would rather like to steal from the family. He's so adorable weighing maybe 1 pound who can't walk in the grass because it's almost as tall as he is.   We went to the home last night and had the opportunity to play in the back yard with them for over an hour. It may have been hot but we definitely had fun.
Have A fabulous Friday night...

There are two colors that as of late, I've come to really like together. Green and Orange. A light pumpkin shade combined with a mint green is more like it.

Courtney Haas Condo decorated by Joe Nye

A Sweet Pink, blue and cocoa pallette.
I have this weird thought process where I attach days with colors. Sundays are always white, Wednesdays are yellow, Thursdays are brown, and Saturdays are blue.
I don't specifically dress with those colors in mind or do anything with them, really. I just think of those days in color.
Although this post has more pink than brown I thought a colorful entry for today would be nice.

Sitting at my desk on my lunch break I thought I'd make a little update.

This past week has definitely flown by, I can't believe it was 7 days ago that we were rushing around the church putting flower arrangements together and getting the wedding set up.
The other night I was texting with my friend Lindsey who is in Indiana as a camp counselor and she mentioned how quickly the summer has passed with our time in Nashville. I can't belive it either. We only have 2 maybe 3 weeks left and we'll be back in Memphis.
There were many people I had hoped to hang out with more but have only been able to do so a couple of times, if that. Although I am ready to have my own home back and sleep in our own bed again, {not to mention our bed!}I will miss being so close to those I care about.

Seeing Joe Pug at the Basement was such fun. Opening for him was Rayland Baxter, a Nashville native whose music I took to. Songs I reccommend you listen to: The Woman for Me and Birdy Blue. Listen Here.
Being that the Basement is a small venue we had great seats about 7 feet from the stage. Packed with hipsters and an overflow of PBR the intimate show was perfect.
Adam being a huge fan of Mr. Pug, he took the opportunity to shake his hand and invite him to Memphis. Who knows, maybe he'll play at the HighTone before we move away.
I snapped a fe photos on my phone but uploading them to this post has been tricky. They'll be posted soon.

Tonight, a couple of girls and I will be dining at Jackson's in Hillsboro Village. They have phenomenal cesar salads and the most kick butt cookie dough egg rolls. I swear by them, they never dissapoint.
I hope you have a lovely start to the weekend!
Talk to you soon,

Fierce

There's something to be said about a woman who carries herself in such a way that everyone around her stops.
Granted, she was probably at a cross walk and everyone was stopped at a red light, but still, that woman is FIERCE.

Oh what a love I have for Shabby Chic.
Rachel Ashwell does it right every time.
On to...Today. A fun date on a summer day.
It's a great coincidence when you and your favorite person both have the day off.
That favorite person is obviously my hubby and with a present from his day we got to go to the movies on him. {Thanks Joe!} For the past couple of weeks we've been wanting to see Toy Story 3; a movie we've grown up with and love.
To our surprise about 10 minutes into the showing everything completely shut off, but not too long after it cut back on. Because of that short cut off we were greeted by a manager as we left handing us 2 free tickets to any showing, including 3D, whenever we'd like for the inconvenience caused.Man, if all of life's inconveniences could be greeted with a free pass I think
We thoroughly enjoyed Toy Story 3, probably my favorite out of all of them. I heard lots of people say that it made them cry so I was prepared for some smeared mascara- it didn't make me quite that emotional but I surely liked that little Bonnie girl. I hope we have a girl withs such imagination and cute style... a tu tu with green wellies.
If you're a fan of the first two I would definitely recommend that you take the time to see the final installment!
Tomorrow we're back to normal with work although if you're interested we will be seeing Joe Pugg in concert at The Basement around 9ish if you'd like to join us!
 Time for bed...sleep well

{Post from Sunday}

Happy weekend, all!
Mine has been packed with wedding details of every kind. As in the post below you see my brother and his wife were married yesterday morning and what a beautiful ceremony it was! I had the honor, as did Adam, to be apart of the wedding party.
Yesterday also holds a very special place in my heart as it was my dad's 50th birthday!
Happy Happy Birthday my daddy, I love you!
Look at the fun cake we had made for him, little Jamie at 18 months old.
He was gracious in agreeing to have the wedding celebration on the same day as his big five oh!
Friday was spent setting up the space with tables, flowers, crystal, tulle, some more flowers and kelly green.  Later that night was the rehearsal dinner that I helped to decorate where everyone got to catch up and eat none other than a southern classic, bar b q.
Saturday morning came early for us, we had to be at the church by 6:30. Well us girls did, we had to get ready! Hairspray was flying and the rooms were so hot from the steamer, curling irons and straighteners. I'm betting the boys green room wasn't filled with as many beauty products, just sayin'.

Everything went off without a hitch and now those lucky two are now on a cruise!

Our trip to Birmingham was wonderfully restful and we had our very own fireworks show right in our front yard on the 4th!
This week has been hectic but altogether fun, T minus 2 days and my brother will be a married man. Eeep!
Much to do today and tomorrow, not sure if I'll have time to post.
Love you all and I hope your week has been lovely.

Hello friends, I hope you're well!
It has been over a week since I've written.
As written in my last post we left for a 5 day trip for a family reunion. We spent our time between Owasso and Skiatook, OK. Friday we spent at the state aquarium then later that evening headed to Crystal Bay Marina to set up our cabins. It felt like we did nothing but eat, swim, eat, swim, sleep and repeat. I kid you not.
By the grace of God I didn't get sun burned, just an overload of freckles on my face. I'll take it :)
Pictures to be posted soon, I promise!
Arriving back home in Nashville came at the right time, we were so worn out. Unfortunately there's no rest for the weary, we had business that had to be taken care of.
Tuesday we took care of some tax issues where we ended up with a lovely 3 hour experience at the IRS. {Thank goodness it's done!}
Yesterday morning I went to the dentist to have a certain tooth looked at. Long story short I never had wisdom teeth that I knew of . Turns out I have one, yes only one, behind that pesky tooth that's caused me trouble. On top of that lone piece of wisdom the dentist discovers that I still have a baby tooth which I never lost. Can you believe it? The adult tooth for some reason never felt the need to exercise its right to come on up. He said that in time something will happen leaving that tooth to break off if I bit into a hard piece of food. Im wishing with all of my might that we can fix it beforehand.

We're headed on another trip, a teensy road trip to Birmingham for the holiday weekend. Be back soon!
