4 years

I cannot believe it has only been four years since we stood beneath those two old trees and said "I do" at sunset.
These four years have flown by but I feel as though I have been with him my whole life. I truly don't know what I would do without him. He's the only person in this mighty big world that gets me.
I love him with all that I am.

Here's to many many many more!
Happy Anniversary, my love!

Happy Anniversary!

My, oh my how three years have flown by! I am married to the love of my life, the man of my dreams and my best friend.
We have been through good times and bad, richer and poorer, sickness and health (and the bar).
Shall I name a few? Supporting ourselves in a city far from family, making pizza, scouting out the best donut joints in town, watching movies, dancing through the house, overcoming multiple car troubles and having only one car, a long bout with the flu, finals, the train that went by our home at all hours of the night, Disneyland, planes flying overhead at all hours of the night, surviving southern “snow storms”, using vanilla soy milk instead of regular…in a spinach cream sauce (yuck), putting up Christmas trees, running out of the shower, coffee runs, moldy books, coming up with our own language, obsessing over tv shows, graduating law school, scrubbing the floors of a prison (don’t worry, he was a part of a cleaning crew! They left at the end of the day), carving pumpkins, killing spiders and roaches, making gingerbread houses, walking around our neighborhood for hours just to talk, burning pizza, worrying over money, getting jobs, moving back to Nashville, passing the bar, dog sitting, road trips, food poisoning, GEAUX TIGERS, making fires, Central Bar-b-q, falling asleep next to each other every night, saying I love you after every conversation, praying and worshipping together, carving pumpkins,  making the bed, birthday surprises, thousands of kisses….the list for go on for at least another 10 pages.
This man makes me feel like I can conquer the world! But I’m pretty sure that he hangs the moon every night so we are even, right?
Here’s to many, many, many more years of being with my favorite person in the world. I am blessed beyond belief that I found him so early on in my life. I cannot wait to have and raise children with him.
I love you my love! Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Over the weekend Adam and I took a short trip to Chattanooga for our first vacation since the honeymoon.
We wanted to go some place close without a lot of drive time but also somewhere that has activities we'd be interested in.
We left Friday afternoon and checked into our hotel after getting a little turned around leading us to Georgia.
Our room was so nice with a king size bed and flat screen, we are so thankful to his dad for giving us that as a gift.
We opted for a trip to the local mall although it was closing when we arrived so we decided to get our bearings straight with the downtown area. Lucky for us there was a biker convention. Oh joy.
Already I was impressed with Chattanooga; there were lots of people walking around, sitting at outdoor eateries and the streets were very clean.
Note: All the pictures posted today are from my blackberry. We searched high and low for my camera only to realize it was no where in sight so we bought a disposable camera. If I get a digital copy of the pictures I'll try to post them soon.
Saturday morning we had the luxury of sleeping in and watching Father of the Bride.
Our first Chattanooga adventure was The Tennessee Aquarium. Adam, as I've mentioned before, is enthralled by all sea life. If there's an aquarium nearby we're going in. There are two large buildings filled with every fish imaginable including a sea horse, butterfly and jelly fish exhibit. Midway through our tour the heavens opened up for a thunderstorm leaving everyone outside running for cover.
At some point we walked around downtown to purchase non other than my absolute favorite, gelato! Coconut and chocolate cheesecake please!!

Following the aquarium we ventured out to a few other districts that friends told us to check out.
First was Rembrandt's Coffee House in the Bluff View Art District. After multiple people suggesting this place I knew it would be great. I loved the exterior most. An upscale coffee shop with an array of coffees, lattes, deserts, and sandwiches; I was in heaven.
Hubby found a new favorite, Orangina!
Look at all of the goodies! That's only 1 case out of 4 I think filled with cakes, cookies, chocolates and macaroons.
Frizzy hair after the rain and my iced cappuccino!

We drove around for at least an hour seeing all that the city has to offer finding our way to another district, North Shore, which reminded me of Nashville's Hillsboro Village. {Thank you to Ashleigh for recommending this area!}
Boutiques, a donut shop where we picked up a couple treats of course, Blue Skies and a brewery find for Adam. He was disappointed they had yet to open but we've already made plans to visit for a tasting.
I can't tell you how much we did on Saturday....we walked, shopped, visited, ate, walked some more and discovered a great city! We never did what most people typically do like Ruby Falls, Rock City or Lookout Mountain.
For us we were more interested in finding out where the locals go than paying $15 each for views and water falls lit up.
Sunday we slept in again and made a b-line for Aretha Frankenstein's. Yes, Frankenstein's.
In the same vicinity as North Shore, it's a restaurant with mostly breakfast items.

There's limited seating, with most of it being outside or on the railing of the porch, the charm is definitely present. Their kitchen is miniature but they made the most amazing french toast I've ever ever ever eaten.
We  were so impressed! If you ever find your self itching for pancakes or omelets, please hop on over to Aretha's.
With nothing planned for the day we decided to find our own views by driving up all of the hills. On our trek we saw this sign.
Can you imagine? In the middle of the mountains I see a Starbucks sign.
We followed all of the arrows to find
Dissapointed by their service as the manage scoffed loudly at our drink choice I still enjoy the fact that Starbucks is directly across from Rock City.
Like I said we didn't actually go to Rock City but I thought I'd share a picture at least.

Sorry for the length of the post, quite long I know!
But that was our anniversary weekend in a nutshell. I hope yours was just as eventful!

Being in love is spectacular.
Last night we celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary a milestone that came so quickly!
The first year of our marriage has been wonderful. We have definitely had our fair share of hardships when it comes to our car, school and work but it all adds up to a stronger relationship.
The sum of us is far greater than the parts.
We often say, "Go team Davis!" whenever something has been conquered as a couple. We just know we're partners, we're in this together.
We had grand plans for the evening but as life is life we made new ones. Better ones.
Having remembered we had a coupon for dunner, we ate at Ghengis Grill {buy one bowl, get the second free} followed by Marble Slab. {Also a coupon for free ice cream!}
Who said you always had to pay full price?
Once our stomachs were upset from all the ice cream we ventured to Green Hills to see a, you guessed it, free movie! As mentioned in a previous post, we saw Toy Story 3 and because of a glitch received 2 free tickets to another movie. Lo and behold we knew it would be the perfect ending to our date night.
We saw SALT with Angelina Jolie. I highly reccommend it if you're in the mood to have an intense break from your day. You are thrown into this CIA world of hers with action packed sequences leaving you with a desire for a sequel. We spent the whole drive home talking about every detial...enthralled to say the least.

I hope you had a wonderful evening for yourself.
Tonight will be more low key with special events including laundry and magazines.

It's our 1 year Anniversary!

To my love Adam, you are my greatest adventure in life.
You are the most wonderful blessing God has ever given me, the best provider, my cheerleader, encourager,  and best friend.
I've never felt so comfortable with someone or so loved.
I can't wait for the next fifty plus years we will spend together, I love you!!
Happy Anniversary!

Monday Monday Monday

Once again we've started another week bringing forth a cold front to the western part of the state.
I was happy to have the 60 degree weather and think of the fun that spring brings in but I shouldn't have been so fooled, it is still January and the snow has yet to really fall. Infact a "snow storm" is in the forecast for Thursday which will most likely be a few flurries with grocery stores sold out of milk and bread.
In other news, tomorrow will be our 6 month anniversary. Can you believe how fast these months have gone by? We were talking about it today on the way home from the grocery store and we're glad that the stress of the wedding weighing on us has now left. I kid you not, there was probably more worry about rain, tents, cake, and hay bales than glee over the life we were about to start together. As much as I would love to go back to our honeymoon and walking around the streets of San Francisco I wouldn't take away what we have now. We have our little routines, we cook together and read our books in bed at night- watch 'Castle' on Mondays and and and....I love what we have. He's my best friend and love! So here's to the next 6 months and 60 years :)
With all this talk of chilly days to come I dream of what will keep me warm...in style.

I just can't stand it when I see girls in baggy sweat pants and ugg boots. Take five minutes to throw on a beautiful scarf, button up a boyfriend blazer and pull boots on. I meannnn c'mon. But that's just me, Adam says I'll get ready to go to the post office and it's true. Always look your best, soap is cheap and water's free.
{I'm off the soap box now}
Keep cozy tonight, I hope to update tomorrow with pictures I've actually taken. {Oh yes, btw I found my camera!!} I'm trying to organize our guestroom closet. Believe me it's bad.
Okay g'night!
