 On Sunday I told myself that this would be a good week. Keeping my head up and looking for the best in every situation has really worked in my favor!
The tofu stir fry was pretty tasty to our surprise but all the videos I watched on youtube helped as well as all of the online literature I read. {Let's be honest, I was clueless and needed all the food aid I could find.}
Yesterday was the true start of this beautiful week! As I mentioned in my last post Tuesday afternoons are free at the Memphis Zoo which is hands down Adam's favorite activity. Well.... his top activities would include music, zoo's and aquariums. With two sonic drinks in hand we strolled into the entrance and gazed at all of the animals...and people! It was seriously packed.
 {Don't you think we look like we're at Disney World?}

Can we just pause for a minute to admire the father and son matching hair-do's? Yes, father and son. Also, please note that the back of the dad's shirt reads, "Ozzy Still Rules!"

{While taking a picture of this lovely animal, two ladies next to us said, "Wow the donkey looks like a girl I work with." Not sure if that moment could have been any funnier. A burn comment for sure!}
What a hottie!!
 The bird gave birth and she looks surprised. "Congratulations!" I yelled to her, birth is a wonderful thing.

Completely and utterly in his element, he can name every fish in the aquarium!

At the end of our visit we drove to Ben & Jerry's for their free ice cream cone day! Thank you cake batter swirl, you made my night!
As for today we've laid pretty lo key aside from the fact that my man made the most kick butt bar b q chicken! We're watching our weekly wednesday shows and are in full obsession over Modern Family.
Bon nuit my loves!

A few photos that I've neglected to post...

{Excited to see Valentine's Day when it came out}

{The Great Grilling Experiment}

*Note: after this pizza was cooked, aka burnt, we went out for burgers*

As you can see in the photo above, our backyard really was covered in leaves and really is small.
Tomorrow and Wednesday should be gorgeous, a very warm 74 degrees to be exact, and hopefully a trip to the zoo. By the way, if you find yourself in Memphis and happen to be a Tennessee resident you can get into the Zoo for free after 3.

Well hello Monday, I feel like I've seen you every week!

The Month of March has seemed to pass us by with only a few days left.  With the time change I have found it hard to adjust with getting up so early but I am drinking in the longer days. The sun doesn't go down until 7 leaving the two of us Davis's to enjoy more time outside. With our back yard being more mud than grass I'm trying to be creative in how I can beautify the little space. The previous renters left lots of paving stones and a few large pots that I have taken as my own and filled with flowers galore. {The hyacinths are already blooming!!} When I know for sure that we won't have any freezing weather I'll purchase a couple of hanging planters and stuff with wave petunias which I hope overflow with color. Our house has no real distinctions and I'm sure most people don't know it exists so I want to bring pretty homey attention to our lovely little place.
 In other complete opposite news, news that really couldn't be more opposite of what I'm into, basketball.
Yes people, basketball. I don't think I have one athletic bone in my body although I do want to know more about how sports work. Well, maybe I just like guessing. One of my friends at work, Sarah, started a building-wide bracket where surgeons, pts, techs and family members alike can guess on who they think will win in March Madness. I decided last minute to take part in the festivities and wrote down who I thought would win in each game. Out of my pure lack of knowledge I somehow ended up with what my co workers are saying is a good bracket. Who-da- thunkit. I still don't know what's going on in the games but am eager every night to see who wins. Even Adam and most of his school buddies are doing the same, sadly Saturday night at a birthday bar b q most of our hopes were crushed as Kansas lost. Whether or not that means anything to you, I bet that they would go all the way. They didn't, they stopped in the beginning you darn ball players!
Alrighty so we're making tofu stir fry for dinner and its time to sautee the tofu and start the cooking. Have a lovely rest of your Monday, this is going to be a good week!

I'm back from under the proverbial rock but only momentarily as we still don't have internet at our house.
Can you believe it's been almost 3 weeks since my last post? I'm pretty sure I'm having withdraws from my blogging and daily blog stalking. We have currently switched Satellite and internet providers leaving us with scrounging from local coffee shops and McDonald's.
Lots of events have occurred which I feel sad I haven't documented with this here space but you do what you can with what you have, right?
Spring has sprung in Memphis if only for a little while giving way to break out our summer clothes.
I am now the ripe old age of 22 and feel no different but celebrated the day with the most amazing of all men, my husband! Being as great as he is, he cleaned the entire house, top to bottom, washed, folded, hung up all our clothes, swept and mopped the entire house (hardwood floors throughout), cleaned the bathroom, made the bed and best of all had lillies waiting for me when I got home from work. A man doesn't fully know how big of a gift taking care of the house is until his crazy wife jumps up and down for about 10 minutes. Later that night we went to a sushi restaurant in what I wouldn't call the safest part of town but proved to be worth it as the food was unbelievably affordable and delicious!
My parents visited for my birthday last weekend where we were able to show them the new law school, devour the yummiest breakfast and bar-b-q all the while searching for a new coffee pot. {Thank you Mamma and Daddy, we are royally obsessed and coffee-holics!} I adore having them in town and staying with us in our home, they bring such a fresh perspective on things and make everything better, you know?
After they left we enjoyed the beautiful weather and invested in an outdoor grill which we have used for almost every dinner and/or lunch this past week. {Even pizza on the grill!} In an effort to further our love of the outdoors and change of seasons we also bought a rake and cleaned up our back yard. We're in the process of beautifying what little space we do have by planting flowers and grass. We may not have green thumbs yet but just you wait! I'll post pictures as soon as I have a camera and computer in the same room.
We're now to Sunday afternoon having spent the weekend with our families and Miss Holli Denham {love that girl!} in Nashville! The times we spend always seem cut too short but soon enough those problems won't be there.
I must get back to family time as I'm neglecting everyone I've come to see on account of this post!
I hope this finds you well and that you've enjoyed your weekend as much as I have. Please say a quick prayer for our drive back home and I'll post some time later this week.
Love you all!
