As new job has started I have regained the ability to do what I love which is play dress up.
When I worked at the physical therapy clinic I had to wear a uniform and when I cleaned houses I just wore workout clothes. The only way I could make myself feel special was to do up my hair and makeup. The occasional accessory was added if it wasn't too much fuss.

With working as a legal assistant for a law office, an outfit is planned the night before down to the shoes and earrings. I mean, I have to dress up don't I? It's required!
Some people I talk to loathe the routine of getting up in the morning to put on their face and figure out the next pair of pants to wear. Me? I live for this.
Daily, I flip through my fashion magazines and scroll about my favorite style blogs to gain inspiration of what a new outfit might hold. Pinterest has been a great help when I look for color combinations and hair styles.

While at my desk today, one of my co-workers said to me that she thought I always had pretty makeup on and wanted to have a girls party where I did everyone's makeup. Really? Me?! I felt and feel so special!
Without a doubt I am the kind of lady who even plans what eye-shadows I want to wear for the next day.

Okay so the Creaseless Cream in RSVP all over the lid, maybe a little Coffeebean in the outer-v of the eye with  Black Honey smudged along the lash line. petal or kitten gloss?

You may think I'm joking but my mind works like that way. Hear you me, I am unapologetic about that. My passions are fashion and makeup.
Here's to another put together day! I hope you all enjoyed your Wednesday, I'll talk to you soon!

Monthly Favorites: August

Here are a few things that I loved in the month of August.
It seems like the older you get the more you find yourself saying how quickly the months and years pass by. August was no less the same as every month, it blew past us beckoning September.
I hope your weekend was fantastic!

A Lovely Pairing: Python

Move over cheetah and zebra, I feel as though python may be making a great splash in the design world.
Be it interior or fashion, I've been seeing this print slithering around everywhere.

Good Morning

 Good morning, lovelies!
I came back, not too long ago, from dropping off Adam for a job. Because we live so close to a Panera we decided to leave a little early to treat ourselves for getting up so early on a Saturday. We literally rolled out of bed, with hairs out of place and sleepy eyes, to get our favorites...Our never fail order that we get every time.

Me: Cinnamon Raisin Bagel, toasted and sliced but no cream cheese. Iced Sugar-free vanilla soy latte.
Adam: Cinnamon Crunch Bagel, toasted and sliced but no cream cheese and Sprite.

You can tell who the complicated order-er is...guilty as charged.
While he's off working I thought I'd drop in to say hello and wish you a lovely lazy weekend.
Today I have to visit David's Bridal to find a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding on October 1st.

Note: I have yet to try one on. Note: If you've ever ordered a dress from DB it takes roughly 6 weeks for a dress to come in. Note: I might have royally been the worst bridesmaid ever. Note: The wedding day is 6 weeks from today. Note: Holy Crap.

Here's to hoping, wishing and praying that if all else fails my mom can help me (pull-twist-let out-hem-restructure-flip upside down) with this dress of mine.

I hope you enjoy your weekend, friends!
I'll talk to you soon, xoxo

New Opportunities

Oh my word life has been so hectic! Since my last post we finished housesitting and grew to love Curly, their larger than life Labra-doodle and I started a new job. We celebrated our friend Jessica's 25th birthday by eating mexican and bowling with lots of old friends. My heart was filled at the end of the night, I do miss hanging out with that group so very much. We also went out to dinner with some Memphis favorites, Zack, Kira and Poole. I miss Kira's friendship dearly, I was glad to talk with her again for sure.
I don't believe I've had more than 2-3 hours at my house to relax since Saturday evening which is why I haven't had to chance to update. Although it is nice to be busy :)
My new job has been such a great experience so far and my co-workers are beyond kind to me. I worked at this office last summer while Adam and I came back to Nashville and they so nicely offered the job to me again!
I have t-minus 3 mintues on my lunch break so I should probably brush my teeth and get back to work.
Tonight I hope to post again with more lovely pictures and a new video should be up in the next couple of days.
Have a lovely afternoon!

Fifteen Weird Facts

As promised, here is another video for you! If anything, this is a good way to get to know me fifteen different questions you would never have asked me...
Talk to you soon,
xoxo .bd
There I go, I've done it again.
It is 12:38 AM and where am I at? Lying on the floor typing away at the blog neglecting precious sleep time. That's what you get when you drink caffeinated iced tea late at night.

We're currently housesitting for a family and taking care of their daughter, Adair, until Sunday afternoon. We were all in a hustle today preparing for these 5 days away from know how this goes, make sure the house is picked up, wash all clothes, empty trashcan, take care of dishes...and so on and so forth. Much effort was put forth but now we're nestled into our room.
You know, it's quite nice to be in a new place every once in a while....tends to give me perspective and appreciation for what I's also nice to have a mini vacation...
So in a valiant effort to savor what few hours I have left to sleep I'm going to crawl into bed next to my already slumbered hubby. More updates to come and a new video as well!
I hope you all have a splendid nights rest!
Talk to you soon,
xoxo .bd

This weekend has been surprisingly restful aside from keeping busy everyday.
Neither of us had much work on Friday and found that lazing around the house all day turned to be more boring than rejuvenating. I guess we're just not good at doing nothing.
Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to help my inlaws get their home back in order as they just had the entire interior of their home painted. Ceilings and every wall.
While I assited in cleaning the bath rooms, vacuuming and mopping the floors, there were also boxes to be unpacked. Adam spent his time (5 hours to be exact) mowing the front and back lawn. They live on about 8 acres, if you were wondering why it took him so long. Needless to say, he came in with odd sunburns on his calves and arms.
Later on we all took a break and my in-laws, Joe & Barbara, took us out for mexican and some frozen yogurt!
One of the great things I feel you can gain after a long and hard day of work is sleep. Knock you out, almost drunk, can't keep your eyes open for a second, sleep. I slept so well!

In fact, wouldn't you want to sleep in that bed above?  I've been searching for ideas on how to update our bedroom on a budget. It seems the easiest way to make a difference is to work on the bed linens and cover.

Today was just as eventful with more yardwork on Adam's part including a couple of hours the men spent on cleaning our car. They washed, buffed, waxed, name it, our car looks brand new! Thank you, love!!!

I later met up with my Mom and our old family friends to see 'The Help'. This was my second time seeing the movie and just as good! Please go see this film, you will walk away touched, I promise!

Smells like dinner is ready thanks to Joe so I'll be letting you go until I talk to you soon.
Have a lovely night, enjoy the last few hours of the weekend!

A few bits & bobbles...

I hope you had a delightful Monday, here's to another beautiful day of the week!
Today very little was actually accomplished but I did take a nap which has now ended in my inability to fall asleep. I tell myself this every time I want to lie down for even 30 minutes, that I'll have a hard time going to sleep, but it never fails...I always give in...and am always frustrated at 11:30 pm.
I think I'll turn on some more Don and Betty Draper...
A bientot!

July 2011 Favorites

July Favorites, a collection of some of the beauty products I have been loving. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for watching!

xoxo, bd
Everyone needs a pop of color in their life...everyone needs something to break up the mundane in their lives and I feel as though that is happening in mine right now.
A new job is on the horizon which I am tickled pink about and I finally have my husband back as he has taken the bar.
Our weekend was one of the best yet spent with friends whom we adore and family we love so very much!
On Friday we hung out with our friend Zack who was in town to take the MPRE (a law school test) and afterwards we met with him to tour the Parthenon, a Nashville landmark. Followed by the Parthenon, which is a life size replica of the original, we headed to Fido, my favorite coffee shop.
Later that night my main squeeze continued to hang out with Zack and a fellow law school grad, Matt.
Let's just say they came back at midnight to only stay downstairs at our home, talk some more, drink scotch and hang out until 3am. Oh men.
Last night I was able to get in some lovely Lauren Kupchik time!! We met at art school years ago and have been great friends ever since. She now lives what I would consider a dream life at the top of a high rise over looking all of Nashville. We sipped on wine {note: must buy!} and ate cupcakes. Can you say perfect!
She is by far one of the hardest working friends that I have and am so very proud of who she has become as a woman.
Last night we stayed with my in laws and later today went to my parents home for lunch as we do every Sunday.
My grandfather, Papa, now lives and naps with them. Yes, naps. He sleeps most of the time, but when you do get to spend time with him you learn to listen as he has so much to say. He's been there for 2 weeks and I think has adjusted well.
We all started to watch The Sound of Music that I believe we'll be finishing next weekend.
On that note I'm going to watch Mad Men before I fall asleep. I'm obsessed! long farewell auf wiedersehen goodbye
Talk to you soon,
xoxo .Bd
