It is Christmas Eve and the Davis's and Harvill's are busy with activities! All of our Christmas shopping is done and every present is wrapped. I feel accomplished!
My work was nice enough to close Thursday and Friday to give us all a break including a full days pay! What a blessing to rest and spend time with everyone I love.
This morning we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel the first of many festivities for the day and now we're off to lunch with Adam's family. I don't doubt that we'll all gain a few pounds by the weekend.
Tonight will be Christmas with the Davis's followed by a special dinner then back to my parents home.
For my brother Josh and his wife Amber they are celebrating  their first Christmas as a married couple with us and to top it off our Papa is in town! If ever you get to meet my Papa Harvill you will be blessed beyond belief.
Okay I've got to head out the door but I should be posting photos of our holiday either tonight or tomorrow.
Have a lovely Christmas Eve...

Can you believe this week is over already? We're just a few days away from Christmas and I am left wondering how this month has gone by so quickly.
Last weekend we spent celebrating Adam's 25th birthday and hanging out with family. Hubby left the weekend with brand new glasses that are being shipped to our home, a tailor fit suit (oww owww!), and 3 gift cards for Amazon which he is completely obsessed with. We had a great lunch with everyone at the brewery in our own room! We chowed down on pizza and cheesecake which was so yummy. Thank you to Barbara, Joe, Aunt Beth, Uncle Jon, Tess, Jonathan, Mamma, Daddy, Josh and Amber....Adam was so blessed and happy to celebrate with you all!
Our plan was to leave on Sunday afternoon but it ended up snowing us in for the night! Missing a days work wasn't profitable but it kept us cozy next to the fire for a good 24 hours.
The week went well with not much to report but laziness and some Christmas shopping. As the sun sets earlier and earlier we don't get out of the house past dark it seems. Too cold, you know?
Yesterday and today was spent at the malls and Target trying to figure out the perfect gifts for those we love.
The thrill of shopping to me is heightened because it's not just for our benefit that we buy something, it's the thought of what our parents would really enjoy. I should do this all year long....truly...so much fun!

I hope you have a warm and jolly night.

It's cold nights like this that I think of anything and everything to keep me cozy. Plush blankets and rich hot cocoa are on my evenings agenda.
Doesn't the first photo remind you of Kate Winslet's home in The Holiday? I think that's why I decided to post it...a favorite winter movie of mine for sure.

A wonderful weekend is ahead of us. Adam will finally be finished with all of his exams, a total of 6 to be exact. He has studied long and hard; Tuesday night he stayed up until 3:15 in the morning only to wake up three hours later to get ready for his next exam. I kept calling him crazy not to mention I missed his company and full attention but I know it will pay off in the long run.
Oh good news!
Today he found out that he passed the MPRE, which he took a little over a month ago, with flying colors. He is now able to take the Bar in any state of the U.S. Go Adam!!
Now, once he takes the last final (tomorrow at 9) we'll head out to Franklin for a weekend spent with family.
My Aunt Beth, Uncle Jon, and two cousins, Tessa and Jonathan are visiting my parents in Nashville for a few days! I'm ecstatic to see them, it's been almost 6 months.
We'll all celebrate Adam's 25th birthday, will go  to the  Dickens of A Christmas Festival in downtown Franklin, and just wonderful pre-Christmas visit.
Tomorrow can't come soon enough!
Alright....it's time for a warm shower as my toes are frozen.
Talk to you soon...

As I posted earlier today, we have my work Christmas party to attend tonight. Some might assume office parties are wet blankets on a Saturday night but I feel quite the opposite. Last year it was held at a country club with wonderful h'ordoeuvres and and open bar. Everyone dressed up and made the night feel special. Not to mention they have door prizes which Adam and I took home a gift certificate to an upscale restaurant.
Tonight should be just as fun!
I must finish getting ready...hair and nails are complete, the outfit it laid out....all I need to do is put some color on this face of mine. Hopefully I'll have a picture or two to share with you all.
 Have a beautiful wintry night!

Happy Weekend!
I hope you slept in and plan on nothing but relaxing and maybe a little Christmas shopping too.
We have a fun night ahead of us, the office holiday party is this evening where I'll get to wear more than khaki's and a polo. (my work uniform)
Hopefully another post later on....lots of errands to run today!
Talk to you soon, promise...

I meant what I said in my last post, some days need a little more oomph than the rest. Wednesdays are my longest seeing as I work 10 hours straight and my feet not to mention my back hurt like no body's business.
By Thursday afternoon I can't wait to come home and sit down for a bit.
Very little resting happened...the house was a mess, our suitcases from the Thanksgiving trip had yet to be unpacked, towels needed to be folded....clothes washed....dishwasher unloaded....you name it....then made dinner for two. At the same time Adam was at school from 9-6 sitting in the moot court board studying studying studying for his exam tomorrow. (His 2nd of 6 total)
So I write this blog to you with both of us on the couch with our eyes barely open.
Just finished Community and now to 30 Rock.
I apologize for a lack of interesting topics...I need a bubble bath and a piece of chocolate.
Have a lovely Thursday evening!

It's that time of year again!
My favorite holiday season is upon us with glittering lights and carefully decorated homes.
We'll be heading back home tonight after an extended weekend for Thanksgiving. I hope to put most of our decorations up today and tomorrow.

Our black friday ended up not turning out at we expected but did spend lots of time eating.
The time with our family was wonderful but it's back to reality as I have work and Adam takes his exams.
Have a lovely Sunday evening, I'll talk to you soon!

As per every year since I can remember my family has had the tradition of watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade together. One day we'll spend our turkey day in the city to celebrate!
I most look forward to The Rockettes as I always dreamed of being one of those long legged ladies and the Broadway plays.
Having found these photos online I thought I would share them with you.

In taking a slight break from cleaning the house I thought I would post that we have an exciting weekend ahead of us.
My dearest friend Holli is visiting us this weekend! As Adam is preparing for his exams, which take place in a few weeks, us girls will be out shopping and getting coffee.
Though I do have some friends here it's always so lovely to have someone near who has known you for over 10 years. Through breakups, moves and bad clothing choices she's always been there.
With that said I'm off to dust the furniture.
Have a fantastic Friday evening....I'll talk to you soon!

It's the creme de la perfect.
Though some may consider the color beige boring, I on the other hand embrace it. There's nothing more chic than a woman who doesn't have to be gaudy and over the top to show her beauty. Case in point this lovely lady...

Beautifully Elegant

Happy weekend to you! Aren't these days so precious? The mornings when you don't have to set an alarm and when the sun rises you don't shudder at the thought of being at work in an hour is like the sound of a choir of angels. {Insert hallelujah chorus now}
Although this morning may not have been the most lazy as some past ones have been, we've been busy.
As stated in my last post my amazing hubby took the MPRE this morning. (Multi-State Professional Responsibility Exam) While he was hard at work my parents and I grabbed a bite to eat at Perkins for a delicious breakfast! My dad has a special place in his heart for breakfast joints like Perkins because he said they remind him of his days on the road with my Uncle Jon.
Pancakes and biscuit quiches filled our bellies when it was time to wrap up and pick my test taking man up. I must insert that when my parents come in town all we do is shop and I love every bit of it! We went to two malls and all ended the day with a new pair of shoes :)
Every store was filled with people shopping for their holiday presents bundled up in coats and scarves. Memphis has really been hit with a cold front with a temperature tonight in the 20's I believe. Quite mind boggling as we've gone from 90 degrees a few weeks ago to below freezing temps but I do like it cold.
Of course there was Starbucks and cupcakes because it's who we are and what we do. Amen!
We ended the night with our favorite Memphis BBQ, Central, and are now back at the house watching the TIVO'd Bama vs. LSU game. Geaux Tigers!!
I'm going to hop into a hot shower as my fingers and toes feel like ice cubes but I just wanted to post an update from my dads new iPad. Not sure how the drool from my mouth hasn't puddled on the screen. Okay so maybe that was t.m.i. but I'm head over heels for this little machine. Christmas present anyone? Hint hint?
Love love love...

Oh what a boring web we weave....
Not sure if that makes sense, but all of that to say nothing much is going on. It has been particularly cold and in some situations have had the opportunity to wear boots!
Last weekend was spent back home with our families celebrating my mother in law, Barbara's birthday! (Happy belated you lovely lady!) We ate Cracker Barrell, drank pumpkin spiced lattes, went to a pumpkin fest, exchanged music galore and ate more. Busy bees I tell ya.

Tomorrow my parents will be visiting us for the weekend. I'm so very giddy, I absolutely love when they come. Reasons to deep clean and light candles always gives a pep to my step. Now we must figure out what to do.... We keep raving about our favorite cupcake place which we want to take them to and treat them to goodies. Abstaining from those yummy happiness filled confections is hard, it's a good thing I won't have to wait much longer!
On top of their visit Adam will be taking the MPRE. A long test that is a part of the bar which he can take early on dealing with ethics and professional responsibility. He's been studying like a mad man for hours on end every day for the past month. Pray that he retains all of the knowledge he's gained and is confident in his choices. I love this man so much and know that he will do amazingly!

Being the lazy bones that I am, this blanket and movie are beckoning me. Have a splendid evening...I hope to catch you soon.
