Date Night

Looks like its date night for this lady! I'm excited to end this week on a happy note with my hubby eating out at a favorite restaurant!
I hope your Friday night is exactly as you like it- on the couch with a new book, a funny movie with friends or maybe a stroll past cute storefronts with ice cream in hand!

Have a scrumptious evening, I'll talk to you soon!

Beach Getaway:

Beach Getaway

Being that the weather has heated up I have found myself dreaming of a getaway.
I'm thinking some place private with drinks, a good book and frequent dips into the water. Above are a few luxury pieces I thought might make a day on the beach that much more indulgent.
If only I could jet set this weekend...these southern summers are brutal- today has already reach 100 degrees!

I hope you are having a lovely {warm} Thursday!
Talk to you soon!

Weekend Bliss

Description: http://www.inslee.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/breakfastWEB1.jpg
I hope that you are having a beautiful Sunday!
This weekend thus far has been so relaxing and a much needed catch-up.

By the way, don't you just love the illustration above? I have seen her illustrations on Pinterest and have repinned a few myself but had no idea they were by the same person. The other day I stumbled upon her blog the other day and found myself wanting to frame every one!
The past few weeks have been nuts and I needed some time to cope with all the changes that have gone on.
After moving in and a quick vacation to California, time at my home and time with my hubby was a necessity!

Friday night was so sweet as Adam came home from work with two of my favorite magazines (InStyle and Elle Decor), a candle, strawberries, bath salts and Amelie! We spent the whole evening together reading, watching Parenthood (We're obsessed!) and nibbling on berries. Needless to say we woke up Saturday completely renewed!

Strolling down main street of Downtown Franklin was number one on my to-do list so we got ready for the day and had a blissful time peering into our favorite stores...namely, The Iron Gate. Whomever decorated that store, you are welcome to turn our home upside down with your lovely treasures, large iron beds and french candles. Go on, do what you like!

After the heat got the best of us we decided on a cooler activity and went to see 'Brave'.
Now I'm not the first person in line for animated/pixar movies but this was so cute! I loved her bright red curly hair and the way it bounced on screen. The way they animated her strands of hair was mind blowing....was this not real? Oh my how talented these animators are! I would highly suggest you go out to catch a showing- unlike most of the love torn princesses of the past disney films, this girl's got gumption!

If you would like me to be honest about Saturday night, it pretty much consisted of cooking dinner and watching more Parenthood.

Today Adam had a scheduled golf outing with his boss and CPA while I went to church and lunch with my family. My mamma and I went out afterwards for some girl time and she bought me two magazines and a Starbucks. Oh, this girl knows me!

Adam came home later on with the biggest smile on his face. That man loves him some golf!
We ran out for a treat {see below},spent a few more minutes with my parents and are now back home.

I figured this little blog deserved an update ;)
I hope your summer is going splendidly! I'll talk to you soon, promise!

Come Fly With Me....

The obligatory title to a travel post... You're welcome!
We are currently at our terminal waiting to board in about 30 minutes with coffee, sprite, and congestion relief at hand. In as much as I enjoy traveling via air, I have sinus pressure that kills! Seriously unpleasant feelings go through my body as the plane descends. I cry.
We have been waiting for this trip to relax without guilt. Does anyone else feel that way? As if laying in your couch on a Saturday morning means you aren't doing your tasks and guilt inevitable follows. Ah fiddle sticks...

With hectic schedules for weeks, packing, moving, moving and unpacking we are spent. So I do believe it's time to get away.
I'll say it again, I love to travel. I love walking around airports to people watch. You will find the most amazing outfit choices walking through terminals such as sandals with socks, fanny packs, bad hair days and cowboy hats with ill-fitting spandex pants. The eye candy abounds!
There's just something about flying that makes me happy :)
Okay I feel like in rambling more than talking about something interesting. I hope you all have a great Thursday!
Bon voyage!

Moving Along

Hi all! I haven’t written one teensy post in over a month! May I say it has been quite a busy month!
I feel like there are so many things to update that I don’t know where to start. Luckily, I do have pictures to show.

At the very end of April, Adam found out that he would be starting as a partner at a firm in Columbia in two weeks from that time. He was and is elated to have a wonderful job opportunity offered to him. God so completely opened up the doors for the entire situation! Being that he would be working in Columbia, quite a way from where we currently live, we knew a move was in the works. Cue the scouring of craigslist and rent.com. Within a couple of weeks we finally found the cutest 2 bedroom 2.5 bath condo filled with light! Now on to buying a car…
While living in Memphis we shared a car and throughout the past year we have shared a car but it had finally gotten to the point where we could no longer “milk it”. You know how sweet it is to live without a car payment? It’s oh so sweet…but it was a necessity now. We looked at many different makes and models but settled on a reliable Hyundai. (Or as my father-in-law pronounces it, Hi-Un-Day)
The mechanics at Carmax, where we purchased the car, even stated that if they were in the market to buy a new car, they would by a Hyundai because of how well they are built. Score for us!

Okay…phew! Two major items on our list are taken care of: Home? Check! Car? Check!
Now we must pack and get rid of the old to make way for the new.
I am quite a fan of packing as it is one of the best forms of therapy for me. Give me a few hours and I will have accomplished a lot. Not much of a pack rat, I am not weary of throwing or giving away items or cleaning!

Washing out the refrigerator! You are very welcome to the intimate view of what we eat!
Our extra bedroom/Adam's office became our "just put it in there and we'll deal with it later" room. As you can see, we've masked that well....or maybe not so well.

A very sweet part of packing up your things is the time you get to spend reminiscing about old photos and little trinkets. Note the family portrait above circa 1989. My brother, Josh, was ever so ahead of the times with his bow tie. Killin' it since '87.
Can you see that I semi nipped that mess of a room in the bud? Believe me, it got much much worse...oh the joys of moving.
The packing continued as did the mess in our kitchen...we have been without "real plates" for what seems like ages.

He's a trooper! Wrapping up pictures for us and watching movies.
You might be wondering why I included a picture of a dumpster in the post. (Or maybe you're not, maybe you just chock it up to, "Well, that's Betsy". Actually that fine structure held a couple of handy boxes which now house books, pantry food and household items.
Moving day finally came and went. We tend to choose the best times of year to pack it up...you know, like, the hottest weekend of the year. It's a good thing our family loves us, otherwise we would have been up a creek without a paddle.

Once we found out about moving I high tailed it to the store for my long awaited label maker. Box of Xbox games? Labled. Quinoa in the pantry? You'll never have to wonder what it is again! What about that gray box in the closet? Oh that's Christmas decor, my friend...as stated by the label! I kind of went nuts. Judge me if you must.
No I am not a minimalist. That kitchen is empty, folks. Bare bones. Naked. Not even a spoon left stuck in a drawer...
So we have now moved out of our house but are sort of in a limbo. Our new condo won’t be available until June 1st thus we have rented a storage until for about 5 days and are currently staying with my parents.
The house is completely bare with only the task of spack'ling holes left to tackle this evening.
We are on to bigger and better things not to mention a newer AC unit. Praise the heavens.

Perfect Day

This morning as I did my routine of waking up, check e-mails, instagram and Pinterest, I found {and repinned} the above list. Believe it or not, that little list pushed me to hop in the shower and start my day off right, instead of being lazy. I'm sure my co- workers were unknowingly thankful!
Hopefully it will give you an idea on how to have a perfect day!
