He Shoots, He Scores!

I want to first mention that this whole "excited for hockey games" is a new thing for me. I'm sure if you knew me a few years ago you would have thought that I'd be the last person to be a part of a sporting event. And you would have been right, but there's something about hockey that I have grown to enjoy. I am so blessed to have a father-in-law who treats me, Adam and even our friends to see the games.
I wasn’t planning ongoing last night but Joe scored a great deal on tickets so he bought four and said I could invite a friend! Hello Preds vs. Kings!
A funny coincidence that will mean nothing to you, but I wanted to mention it none the less: Lisa, the friend I invited to go,  is originally from Southern California and a huge LA Kings fan. We talked last week about having a fellow co-worker get us box seats especially for this game but unfortunately it didn’t work out. Lo-and-behold…aka only by God’s awesomeness-we actually got the chance to go! We high tailed it to the game, grabbed a couple of dollar hot dogs (a steal as they normally cost $4!), and made it to our seats.
A few snapshots of our night:
It was this kid below who gave me and Lisa the most entertainment. As you can see he is standing up...which he did for the majority of the game. Not sure why, but it irritated me so much! On top of the fact that he would rarely take his seat he would talk to him self and yell randomly at the players,
"Shoot the puck up and in put it in the hole- I want my frosty!"
Just a little fyi, if the Preds can score 4 points in a game, all of the attendees will receive a voucher for a free Wendy's frosty.  Or sometimes you’ll get a free donut or goo-goo cluster. Random, I know.
Alright I hope you have enjoyed my many hockey posts as of late.
This weekend will be unbelievably busy and tiring...it will also be my 24th birthday on Friday!
Regardless of the activities, I hope you have a lovely Tuesday.
Talk to you soon,
xoxo bd

L-O-V-E

Most everyone will celebrate Valentines Day on...well...the 14th but being the rebels that we are we have been celebrating all weekend long!
We went out on multiple dates and even made a pact {a hand shake in fact!} with each other that we would only spend time together. Sometimes you just need to focus on the one you love...
We stayed up late, slept in, lazed around, watched tv, got ourselves goodies just because and the list goes on. Tonight after work and a trip to the dentist we decided to make it our offical Valentines Day by getting some yummy pizza, cupcakes and two movies. Hello wonderful night in!
Without further ado, I'm off to spend time with my L-O-V-E and I will talk to you tomorrow.
Have a lovely night!

Lobster Party

Happy Friday, one and all :)
I wanted to share a few pictures with you of what we did last night.
Yesterday was Daniel's 20th birthday, Adam's brother, so we all went to his favorite place to eat, Red Lobster!
{Barbara, Birthday Guy, Adam}
To be with family often is such a great blessing that I have in my life and I enjoy being with them all so much. Sometimes it takes sad things to bring everyone together but I assume that is Gods way of taking care of us when we need it the most.
This has been a different week for all of us as Mamaw, Adam's grandmother, passed away from pneumonia on Monday. She has been sick for a very long time but nonetheless it is so hard to see someone you love pass away. Because of her passing, Aunt Debbie and Keith came up from Louisiana to visit with all of us which has been such a great time.
After all of the dinner festivities we went back to Joe and Barbara's house for mini red velvet cupcakes!

I am so ready for this weekend and the chance to sleep in a bit!
Have a lovely Friday, I'll talk to you soon!

The Preds

If you live in Tennessee I'm sure you are aware of our NHL team, The Predators. Growing up I could have cared less about hockey as a whole but within the past few months I have really grown to enjoy the game...live that is.
Adams dad is an avid sports lover and invited us to go with him to a game in November. Ever since then we have gone once every month to see the intense sport play out!
Tuesday night The Preds were playing the Vancouver Canucks and we came out to watch.

It was Barbara's (Adam's mom) first time to a hockey game and we were so excited to have her come with us! Not to mention Aunt Debbie and Keith were in town so it was perfect timing! {Thanks Aunt Debbie for treating us!!}
Unfortunately the game was so close that they went into over time, then a shoot out because overtime finished... which after about 6 rounds led to the Canucks win.
Despite the loss we had a great time and I'm ready to see another game!

The Big O - 7 Habits of Highly Organized People

It is no surprise that if you know me, you know that I like to keep organized.  Infact I've mentioned it often enough on this blog.
Now, all of that to say there are more moments than I would like to recall where I have been anything but the big O. Actually, today at work, my friend/co-worker Lisa noticed how frazzled I was with not having enough time to complete my tasks. She asked if I had made a list with which I replied, "Nope."  At home I am Tidy Tina but at work I jump from one task to another so quickly that I try to complete everything at once which results in slight mental chaos.
I was and am not having it, I was done with being overwhelmed and have decided that come Monday morning, this here Betsy will be much more organized.
Below is a list that should be plastered on my desk at work:

7 Habits of Highly Organized People:
  1. Write Things Down
  2. Set Goals and Assign Deadlines
  3. Find A Place For Everything
  4. Put Things Back
  5. Don't Procrastinate
  6. Don't Allow Papers to Pile Up
  7. Only Have Things You Use and/or Enjoy

One of my not so resolutions but more on the "make a better effort" list was to organize our life more efficiently.
Thus far I have organized our pantry, "laundry room", bathroom and bedroom closets. It is an ever evolving process because we live our lives in our house. Sounds obvious but it means dishes sometimes pile up, the floor collects grubbiness from outside, and American Idol will take priority over taking the trash out. {I'm sorry, it just does sometimes.}
Regardless of your priority list, motivation to keep your items and life orderly is key.
Last night I watched a few videos by Maria Menounos, TV show host and
author of "The EveryGirl's Guide to Life" for inspiration:

Drawer Basics:

Car Essentials:

Successful Office:

Travel Tips:

The next priority is my car. Don't look in my trunk or you may inflict harm on your eyes..seriously a mess.
After reading her book and watching the clip about how her boss thought that a messy car meant a messy life I decided I needed to kick my bum in gear. Gosh I love inspiration!
Click HERE to take a look at her book!

I hope this weekend finds you well, I'll talk to you soon!
